He was the honoree for the Pipeline for a Cure & Cystic Fibrosis Foundation event. ![]() He has organized and successfully coordinated seven charity surf contests including the Craig Marshall Surf Contest, Foam top surf contest to benefit the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Lifeguards, and the first inaugural contest for Carolina Beach Longboard Club, a non-profit surf club he founded to help the local young athletes and community. ![]() Whenever Tony Silvagni is back home he enjoys extending his love and knowledge of surfing at his home breaks around North Carolina. He has enjoyed surfing the waves around the world and Most recently, Silvagni has been to Australia, Papua New Guinea, China, Taiwan, Japan, California, and Hawaii to compete in professional longboard competitions. Tony moved to Kure Beach, NC with his family in 1993. His combination of professional surfing and passion for the sport led to a natural decision to begin sharing his joy of surfing with others. Tony has been a professional surf coach for 16 years and has been instructing others in surf technique and ocean safety since 2003. In 2011 Tony won one of his biggest surf achievements at the ISA World Games in Panama winning the Gold Medal World Longboard Champion for Team USA. In 2015, Tony won the Taiwan Open of Surfing Pro Longboard in Jinzun harbor. Tony also won the 2016 Trump Hyuga Pro Longboard Champion in Miyazaki Japan. In 2016, Tony won the USA National Pro Longboard title in Oceanside California against the 3X World Champion Taylor Jenson. Also, in 2017 1st in Pro Longboard at the Belmar Pro in New Jersey and 1st place in the Open Pro Longboard in the Guy Takayama Pro in Oceanside, California. In 2018 Tony was the North American Pro Longboard Champion. His most recent accomplishments include finishing equal 5th place in the world for professional longboard at the first stop of the 2019 World Longboard Tour.
